Tolu Osemwegie. MS, LPC, NCC

Hello and welcome to my page,

I believe peace is possible, even when you have spent a long time feeling as though you have to hold everything together.

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor, counselor educator, and mentor who works with adults and couples navigating anxiety, fear, overthinking, trauma, relationship concerns, and significant life transitions. I'm especially interested in helping people who have learned to live on high alert, anticipating what could go wrong, carrying more than they were meant to carry, and finding it hard to trust themselves, other people, or even God.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and deeply attentive to the whole person. I want to understand not only what you are experiencing, but also the experiences, relationships, beliefs, and circumstances that have shaped how you learned to move through the world. Rather than reducing you to a diagnosis, we will look together at the patterns that may once have helped you survive but may now be keeping you from experiencing the peace, connection, and freedom you desire.

Counseling That Makes Room for Faith

My Christian faith is an important part of who I am and how I understand people, hope, healing, and restoration. For clients who desire Christian counseling, faith can be intentionally integrated into our work.

This may include exploring biblical principles that support emotional and relational well-being, your understanding of and relationship with God, prayer, spiritual practices, or the ways your faith influences how you understand yourself and what you are experiencing.

At the same time, you do not have to share my faith to work with me. I welcome clients from different backgrounds and respect each person's beliefs, values, and preferences in counseling.

More Than Managing Symptoms

I want therapy to help you do more than simply feel less anxious.

Together, we may work on understanding the fears beneath the need for control, recognizing patterns of hypervigilance and self-protection, processing past experiences, strengthening your ability to trust, building healthier relationships, and becoming more present in the life you are living now.

Change is rarely instant. It takes courage to examine patterns that have been with you for years and practice something different. My role is not to rush that process, but to walk alongside you—offering support, challenge, practical tools, and a safe place to do meaningful work.

My hope is that, over time, you won't have to work so hard to hold everything together. You can learn to loosen your grip, make room for what you cannot control, and experience greater peace within yourself, your relationships, and your life.

Counselor Education, Supervision & Mentorship

My work also extends beyond the therapy room. As a counselor educator, I am passionate about developing counselors and other helping professionals—not simply what they know, but who they are becoming as they learn to care for others.

I provide supervision and mentorship grounded in encouragement, reflection, professional growth, and the development of an authentic counselor identity. I believe people grow best when they are appropriately challenged and have someone help them recognize the strengths and progress they may have difficulty seeing in themselves.

This interest in identity, formation, belonging, and what it means to be truly seen and known also informs the work I continue to develop beyond traditional counseling.

Education & Professional Background

I earned my master’s degree in Rehabilitation Psychology/Counseling from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and am a doctoral candidate in Counselor Education and Supervision at Regent University.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia and Wisconsin and a National Certified Counselor. My professional experience includes private practice, counselor education, clinical supervision, and mentorship, as well as work with individuals, couples, and families across a variety of settings.

Through Press Reset, I currently provide online counseling to clients located in Georgia and Wisconsin.
