Tolu Osemwegie. MS, LPC, CRC

Therapist

Tolu is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Wisconsin and a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor who passionately provides a supportive, encouraging, and hope-filled space for her clients to address their areas of concern. Her naturally warm, nurturing approach puts her clients at ease, which allows trust to develop in the therapeutic relationship.

Tolu pulls from her background in Rehabilitation Counseling and Christ-centered faith to create a holistic experience for her clients.

Tolu seeks to understand her client's struggles in the context of their lives rather than labeling them with mental disorders. She tailors her work according to her client's needs and context. Tolu has no allegiance to any therapeutic approach. Instead, she uses integrative approach to match counseling techniques with her client’s needs. She recently received Eye Movement Desensitizing and Reprocessing (EMDR) training to increase the resources she can draw from when caring for her clients. Tolu helps clients practice healthy coping strategies, change attitudes, alter behavior, and modify their lifestyles. She helps clients build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing. On the healing journey, her clients notice ease from pressures, stressors, anxiety, and pain. Tolu encourages and empowers her clients to create the change they need ultimately. She says, “It is not magic, and it isn’t often a quick fix; however, change will come, and clients will fill her support throughout the process.

Tolu has extensive successful counseling and coaching experiences with individuals around trauma, grief, career and life direction, spiritual development, disabilities, relationship issues, depression, anxiety, identity, and behavior disorders. She says, “Change is possible and can start from our first meeting.”

Her therapy sessions are through video/ telehealth. Online therapy is proven to be effective as traditional therapy. Online therapy offers convenience and flexibility; it saves time commuting to and from appointments. People often feel comfortable in their own space; this reduces anxiety and may help them feel more vulnerable in counseling.
